Vater's take on Hong Kong

Mom and Dad left the urban jungle this morning and are on their way back to the States. We had an amazing visit, with 4 and a half days in Hong Kong, and 3 full days in Phuket. I can't wait to tell you all about our time together.

I was giddy with excitment all day on Friday in anticipation of their arrival. I volunteered that morning and then made my way home to tidy up and head to the airport. I waited for what seemed like an eternity, but they finally made their way to me!
There were just a few tears, but we were all so excited to be standing on the same soil.

We hopped on the train and headed back to our apartment. We spent the evening catching up, playing with Dudley, and admiring the view from my windows.

Saturday morning we woke up to grey sky...typical of Hong Kong weather in March. We walked around Soho and Central.

Mom admired the wet market...
And wondered why I don't buy my fish and meat there :)

We walked through the many shopping malls. Mom especially liked this one:
After much walking, we had worked up an appetite, so rode the escalator up for a dim sum lunch.

After lunch we headed to Kowloon to Michael's tailor. Adam and Dad got some custom shirts made, and Adam bought a suit. 2 days later, Dad succumbed to the pressure and got a suit too. They are going to look amazing in their new purchases. Would someone P.L.E.A.S.E.  take mom and dad out so he can wear his new tailored suit?

On the way back home, we strolled through Hong Kong Park.

Adam and Dad played in the water.
Mom admired the turtles.
We made our way back to 80 Robinson and picked up Dudley to go for a beer.

Mom met some new friends hunks from Australia.
We went to dinner that night at Cafe Grey for Dad's birthday and called it a night soon after.
We had a great first day.
So far, the jet-lag hasn't been so bad. They are troppers!
xx,
Lauren
