People have been raving about Bali since we arrived, so we were so excited to see if it would hold up to its reputation. Bali has a bit of everything---beaches, surfing, rice-paddies, high-end hotels, delicious restaurants, and lots of night-life.
We arrived in Bali the night of the 4th, after a 4.5 hour flight from Hong Kong, and celebrated 3 years with a little bubbly.
We began our stay in Nusa Dua. Our hotel was just beautiful and we enjoyed lounging in the sun and trying our best to soak up some rays before heading to Ubud.
You can see in the picture below that the waves never actually hit the shoreline. There was a reef in front of the hotel that seemed to act like a barricade. The waves were the biggest I've ever seen.
The beaches we've been to in Asia typically have very little breeze, so we spend most of our time in the water. In Bali, it was so breezy and very reminiscient of our days on Sullivans Island. The water was actually cold, so only my toes made their way in.
We enjoyed outdoor breakfasts, and being treated like kings and queens.
After 3 days in the sun, we left the next morning for Ubud, about an hours drive from Nusa Dua. It was just beautiful. I cant wait to show you!
xx,
Lauren
