BUDDHA, BUDDHA, BUDDHA

It's day 4 and we're heading to Tung Chung to see the Big Buddha. We took the cable car to the top and marveled at how large he is.

The Tian Tan Buddha is the largest seated outdoor Buddha in the world. See, you want the Buddha to be historic and think that you're making the same pilgrimage to see him that so many Buddhists made hundreds of years ago. BUT, the Buddha was built in 1993. Not very historic, but grandiose nonetheless.

We stopped at a grocery store in Tung Chung to do some more Thanksgiving shopping before heading home. Like me, Amanda was pretty impressed with the bags of rice.

That night we were off to the races. Every Wednesday night there are horse races in Happy Valley (except in the summer when it's so hot). Make sure when you come visit me you're here on a Wednesday...

We left the races exhausted. I think we were both thankful to be spending the next day at home. I can't believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow!
xx,
Lauren
