Day 2

We started today at the Peak, which at 1,286 feet is Hong Kong's tallest hill. We rode the Peak Tram up to the top of Victoria Peak. The tram began operation in 1888, cutting the journey from the bottom to top from 3 hours to 8 minutes. The tram takes you straight up, but in the 100+ years of operation has never had an accident.

We lucked out and had a beautiful, clear day, resulting in spectacular views. We spent some time wandering around and taking pictures.

I even went for a ride (in a circle)....it cost me $1, but the man was cute and the ride was fun.

After the ride and some more wandering, it was off to City Hall for Amanda's first dim sum experience. Now, I LOVE dim sum, so I was hoping she would too. City Hall provides a very old-school experience where the women come around with carts and you pick what you want off of them. Amanda loved the dim sum...I think as much as I do.

The dumplings in the top right corner are filled with pork and soup...one of our favorites for sure. When you come and visit, dim sum is a must. You'll love it! After such a hectic afternoon of touring the peak and eating, we found ourselves at Foot, a reflexology foot massage spot in Central. Reflexology is huge in Hong Kong and you can't pass a street corner without seeing a spot for a good foot rub. Now, I've had a total of 3 foot massages while in Hong Kong...2 of them were this week with Amanda! We were spoiled...they don't just rub your feet, but your neck, back, and legs. It's almost like a mini massage... and is heaven. Don't worry, I'll take you when you come!

We were leaving Foot when Amanda spotted Frites, an Irish beer bar. She was so excited, as her husband David is pretty much a beer connoisseur and the Willis' know a thing or two about a good beer.

We headed home and went for a drink at Dragon I before having dinner at Thai Lemongrass, a great Thai place in Lan Kwai Fong.

Day number two may have been my favorite...
xx,
Lauren
