This and That

It's been a quiet week. Dudley and I have spent lots of time exploring his new concrete playground and trying to find new walking paths for him to investigate. We've found some trails close to our house that wind through the woods. Yesterday, I was able to take him off the leash and he sprinted down the trail. He was so happy! When we walk, I carry a goody bag along...2 bags for poop, and 2 water bottles (you have to spray the pee with water here). It's a little different, but we're all adjusting to life in the big city.

My friend Bethany and I have decided to enter the Green Power Hike along the Hong Kong Trail. The race will be February 6 and we'll have 16 hours to complete 50 km (31 miles). Some people will run this, but we'll be walking it in order to save our knees. We hiked 16 miles today (with no training), and are still planning on wearing heels tonight. :)  I'll keep you posted on how our training is progressing!

I forgot to tell you we finished the Hong Kong Trail last week! Here's a picture of some of us at the end of Stage 8.

We have a few Christmas parties this weekend and are starting to get our itinerary together for Bangkok. Hope ya'll are finished with your Christmas shopping! We've told our families not to send us gifts and we won't send gifts either this Christmas. It's just too expensive to ship things, and we'd rather them save their pennies to come visit us! It feels strange not "giving" this year. I miss it.

Thinking of you all this holiday season and missing you lots!
xx

16 miles? Congratulations! That's awesome. Good luck with the training!

As for not giving Christmas this year; I totally understand. I love giving! You could always contribute to a charity close to the heart of those you love, in their name. No shipping required. :)

Lauren, you are "giving" this year to more people than you know. We are all getting a present from both you and Michael -- a view of the other side of the world, a place that many will never be able to see. New places, new customs, new food, and more! All wrapped up in a "blog" with a bow!! Merry, Merry!
